Position Overview

At Unified Door & Hardware Group (UDHG), Manufacturing Layout Engineer are the critical link between design and production—the one who translates plans into action. You’ll be responsible for listing every hollow metal door and frame with precision and purpose, ensuring each detail is clear, complete, and ready for seamless execution on the shop floor. In this role, your accuracy drives momentum—and your layout becomes the blueprint of our success.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

  1. Shop Drawing & Software Input
  • Enter detailed shop drawing information into the designated manufacturing software.
  • Analyze elevations and material profiles to ensure compatibility with efficient manufacturing techniques.

 

  1. Hardware & Template Interpretation
  • Ensure hardware templates are accurately interpreted and programmed relative to each part.
  • Maintain tight manufacturing tolerances and adhere to established manufacturing methods.

 

  1. Manufacturing Criteria Assessment  
  • Evaluate all manufacturing factors in relation to shop capabilities, including bend deductions, shear sizes, jig selection, reinforcement needs, material gauge selection.

 

  1. Programming for Optimization
  • Accurately program elevations to ensure efficient machine utilization/optimization and tool selection to properly produce parts.

 

  1. Safety
  • Follow all safety protocols and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Use proper lifting techniques.

 

  1. Physical Requirements
  • Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying approximately 100 lbs. utilizing proper lifting procedures. 
  • Additional physical requirements may be needed as duties are assigned.

 

  1. Miscellaneous
  • Support our values in the stand areas of Safety, Customer Focus, Teamwork, Integrity and being a Company of Choice for both employees and customers. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • High school Diploma or equivalent with two years of additional computer training or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  •  1-2 of related programming experience.
  • Knowledge of software applications.
  • Understanding of related programming languages and procedures.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation

The listed pay range reflects the expected base rate for this position; actual compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and cost of living in the assigned market. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.

  • Base: $28.50-$36.00/Hourly
  • Bonus: Not Eligible
  • Job Type: Full-Time

Salary Range

Min: USD $28.50/Hr., Max: USD $36.00/Hr.
