Position Overview

At Unified Door & Hardware Group (UDHG), the Senior Project Accountant serves as a key leader within the Project Accounting team, supporting the Project Accounting Manager in producing accurate, timely, and compliant invoicing. This role is responsible for preparing AIA (American Institute of Architects) billings, processing change-order invoicing for general contractors, and reconciling client account statements with company records to ensure accuracy and collectability.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

  1. Billing & Contract Compliance   
  • Ensure billing compliance with the terms and conditions of each contract.
  • Prepare and send monthly Payment Applications/Invoices to general contractors.
  • Prepare AIA billing and change-order documentation in accordance with project requirements

 

  1. Project Financial Analysis
  • Prepare monthly analyses of individual projects to confirm monthly billing goals are achieved.
  • Complete job statement reconciliations and perform financial analysis to support project accuracy.

 

  1. Account Reconciliation & Collections Support
  • Partner with the collections team to reconcile variances in payment applications.
  • Reconcile client statements with company records to ensure collectability and resolve discrepancies.

 

  1. Communication & Collaboration
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external Project Managers regarding monthly billing, change orders, and project financial status.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to maintain accurate billing data and support project execution.

 

  1. Leadership & Training
  • Train new employees within the project accounting group.
  • Provide ongoing guidance and support to established team members.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to improve department efficiency.

 

  1. Miscellaneous

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • 2–4 years of prior Project Accounting or Billing Analyst experience.
  • Experience in the construction industry, including AIA billing formats.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time with strong efficiency.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with demonstrated accuracy and precision.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Compensation

The listed pay range reflects the expected base rate for this position; actual compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and cost of living in the assigned market. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.

  • Base: $28 - $36per hour
  • Bonus: Discretionary
  • Job Type: Full-Time

Salary Range

Min: USD $28.00/Hr., Max: USD $36.00/Hr.
